Kathy Osterman Beach (formerly Hollywood Beach)
The people-watching opportunities here are endless thanks to a unique mix of people from the surrounding neighbourhoods. Play some volleyball, water Frisbee or just grab a snack from one of the roaming vendors and take in the sights.
North Avenue Beach
A local favourite of the fitness crowd, North Avenue Beach is centrally located and offers a range of beach activities. It’s the perfect place for beach volleyball, in-line skating, biking or working out in an open-air fitness centre. There’s even an outdoor hockey rink and a boat-shaped structure for a quick bite to eat.
Oak Street Beach
This wide stretch of beach boasts postcard views of North Michigan Avenue, an onsite restaurant and a downtown location that attracts an array of beachgoers. A visit after sunset is rewarded with cool sand beneath your feet and romantic views of Chicago’s glowing skyline.
Ohio Street Beach
This cosy beach offers a great spot to enjoy swimming in Lake Michigan thanks to its easy access to deep water. Of course, you can also play volleyball here as well or jog and bike along the lakefront path.
57th Street Beach
Located near the Museum of Science and Industry in Hyde Park, this beach offers an area of deep swimming south of an excellent park, Promontory Point, along with a beautiful view of the skyline.
